New Character Art

Here's some art that I made for my grandmother for Christmas. When I was little, I used to draw pictures for her all the time, so I decided to do something more recent for her.

I didn't have any plan in mind for this drawing other than it would be a group of characters. Each character was made up on the page, which I felt was more creative than picturing each character in my mind before drawing them.

I used quite a few things I learned over the past year from doing my daily sketches in order to make each character look and feel different from each other, like giving each one their own body shapes and different sets of eyes. I also wanted to make sure each character had it's own individual color scheme, so I focused on the three primary colors (red, blue & yellow) and the three secondary colors (orange, green & purple).

I'm happy with the way this turned out and my grandmother seemed to like it, too! I may even try to use these characters again in the future.
